Before you bring materials in

Ideally each material type is separated from the other to the degree possible. This helps us with sorting and processing. This matters less with items like desktops or printers that cannot tangle themselves, and it matters more with cables, power adapters, keyboards, and other cable-bearing material.

We do not need the boxes for your items. Do not hesitate to ask for help unloading.

Data security policy

Prepare data-bearing devices before drop-off

For computers, phones, tablets, gaming consoles, cameras, hard drives, SSDs, hotspots, smart TVs, and security cameras, back up anything you need before bringing the item to 1PC.

1PC can process data-bearing devices through secure sanitization, physical destruction, or downstream recycling workflows. If you need formal documentation, certificates, asset tracking, or NIST 800-88 aligned service, request that during drop-off or before pickup.

  • Remove SIM cards, SD cards, discs, USB drives, and accessories you want to keep.
  • Sign out of Apple ID, Google, gaming, cloud camera, and carrier accounts when possible.
  • Factory reset phones, tablets, cameras, smart devices, and consoles if you are comfortable doing so.
  • Remove activation locks such as Find My iPhone or similar account locks before drop-off when possible.

Accepted item questions

Do I need the original box?

No. Boxes are not needed for TVs, computers, microwaves, monitors, or most other electronics.

Should I wipe my device before bringing it in?

It is a good idea to back up and factory reset phones, tablets, computers, cameras, consoles, and smart devices. 1PC can still process data-bearing devices securely after intake.

Can businesses bring large quantities?

Yes. Businesses, schools, offices, and organizations can request pickup for larger electronics cleanouts, IT refresh projects, servers, networking gear, and bulk devices.
