Laptop & Cell Phone Lithium-Ion Batteries accepted for recycling at 1PC

Description

Normal-condition lithium-ion batteries from laptops and cell phones, including embedded or removable packs when safely removed or included with accepted devices.

Considerations before bringing it

No-charge category applies to normal-condition laptop and cell phone lithium-ion batteries. Damaged or suspect batteries should be treated as DDR.

Preparation notes

Back up the device first if the battery is still inside a data-bearing laptop or phone. Tape terminals on loose batteries and keep them separated from metal.

Data and privacy prep

Batteries do not normally store customer data.

General data note only. Most versions do not store customer files, but smart, networked, enterprise, or modified versions may retain settings, account links, removable media, or configuration data.

Best way to bring it to us

Bring normal-condition laptop and cell phone batteries with the device or in a small bag/box. Contact 1PC first if swollen, leaking, hot, punctured, or recalled.

Safe handling note

General safety guidance only, not legal, safety, or transport compliance advice. Research handling for your specific battery type and follow manufacturer/local/state/federal guidance. Tape exposed terminals when practical, keep batteries dry and cool, prevent crushing or shorts, and use a sturdy nonconductive container. Contact 1PC first for swollen, leaking, hot, punctured, fire-damaged, recalled, or questionable batteries.

What happens after drop-off

Accepted batteries are separated from other material and routed through appropriate battery recycling channels.
